SAUNG GAUK (The traditional arched harp from Burma/Myanmar) How to tune the harp in the traditional way as shown by my teacher U Phone Myint Normally most of the arched harps sold in Burma/Myanmar today know tuning pegs like on a guitar so it is more easy to tune them. Some older models still have the typical bindings using tassels like one can find on some other ancient Asian instruments, for example the Kayagum in Korea or the Chinese Guqin. Here we can see how these tassels are used to tune a string. For more information on the harp, the scores for harp tunes information on tuning and how to play the harp and much more please visit my webpage: http://www.musicofasia.info/htmls/myanmar/myanmar_i-saung.html or check out my channel here on youtube.
