SAUNG GAUK (The traditional arched harp from Burma/Myanmar) Lesson 03: Suspension notes as shown by my teacher U Phone Myint The suspension notes are of high importance for the typical melodic phrases in the traditional Saung music. Regarding the used tuning or modal scales this results in some interesting intervalls, which sometimes are hard to hear for Western ears and might sound a bit out of tune due to the quarter steps in the old traditional scales. In this example the easy C Major scale is used. For more information on the harp, the scores for this and other harp tunes information on tuning and how to play the harp and much more please visit my webpage: http://www.musicofasia.info/htmls/myanmar/myanmar_i-saung.html or check out my channel here on youtube.
